Ok so this post is loooong overdue but I wanted to give a recap on my Essence Festival experience. This was my fourth time traveling to NOLA for the festival and I had just as much fun this time around as I did in 2007 when I went for the first time. If you love music, food, being around people, and having a good time than you have to at least make a trip to the Essence Festival once in your lifetime. From concerts to celebrities, contests to seminars, giveaways, food, shopping, and the night life; there’s a little something for everyone to do whether young or older. The weekend of festivities kicked off on the 4 th of July with the first annual “Family Reunion Day” at Woldenberg Park. The day was filled with free live musical performances and the night ended with a fireworks show. My favorite performances were from Biz Markie, Cupid, and Tweet. Tweet has been off of the music scene for a minute so it was good to see her doing her thing and making new music, and might I add
